Supervisor: Michelle Kelly & Elleke Boehmer
Research Interests: contemporary American literature, environmental humanities, the war on terror, slow violence, ecocriticism, the politics of representation, gender/sexuality studies, feminist theory
Doctoral Research: My dissertation considers collisions of crisis in post-9/11 American literature, and examines the literary forms and figures that might unite the disparate critical camps of ecocriticism and 9/11 literature, from zombie novels to Whitman intertexts. By examining representations of intersecting crises across a variety of genres, this project confronts the formal limits of the novel to grapple with the political challenges of our times.
